On November 19, we welcomed Victoria piglet to the farm. She was born in Derry, NH and was the runt of the litter. It was clear from her brave struggle to stay alive that she was a very special piglet. Pigs are very smart and Victoria is no exception. She loves to walk with me and the dogs every and "helps" me clean out the stalls in the afternoon. Yesterday was her first snow storm. She wasn't so sure about the snow at first. She took one look outside and came running back into the barn and slid on some snow I had tracked into the barn. I thought it would scare her but again she went outside and came running back in and slid on the snow. By the third time, I realized that this was no mistake and she was purposely trying to slide across the floor. What a character! I sat on the floor and scratched her behind the ears and she climbed into my lap and fell asleep. Exhausted from her very exciting game!
